How Music Bits Began

From our high-street premises in Alford, we set out to build something different from the large online-only retailers. We wanted a place where you could walk in, pick up an instrument, feel the weight of it in your hands, and talk to someone who truly cares about music. A place rooted in the community, with real expertise behind the counter.

Growing with the Community

Since opening, Music Bits has become part of the fabric of Alford. We've supplied instruments to local schools, supported budding musicians at every stage of their journey, and built relationships with customers who return time and again — not just for gear, but for the conversation, the setup advice, and the shared love of music.

Our range has grown to encompass guitars, ukuleles, drums, brass, woodwind, and professional audio equipment. We stock both new and some pre-loved instruments, and our in-house setup and repair service means that whatever you bring through the door, we'll make sure it plays its best.
